PRTB & LANDLORDS

The Landlord and the P.R.T.B. (Private Residential Tenancies Board).

Landlords are required by the Private Residential Tenancies Act 2004 to register any tenancy with the P.R.T.B. within 28 days of the lease commencement date, and this is now rigorously enforced. During the set up of all lettings, we ensure the PRTB form is completed by tenants and by ourselves, and this is then forwarded to the owner for completion and posting to the PRTB. Carlow Property Management cannot be held responsible in any way for the Landlord's failure to do this, or for subsequent legal repercussions arising. Please note that Landlords have no recourse to the legal protection of the PRTB if they are not registered whereas tenants always have.
